Note- This is from an HSE inspector and not the work of D4S
Picture Taken by an HSE inspector during our Dust Kills Health Campaign on a construction refurbishment site in NW London, this photo shows dry-sweeping taking place indoors without all the necessary dust control measures in place.
While clearing up may seem low risk, dry brushing can push large amounts of dust into the air. Regularly inhaling construction dust can cause diseases like lung cancer, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and silicosis.
Attempts had been made to damp down the dust, but FFP3 masks were still needed. HSE took enforcement action as masks were available on-site, but they were not being used, nor were the workers face-fit tested.
